A message from Brother Greg Hauck
Praise to the Lord from His creation! One does not need to be a scholar when reading Psalm 148 to understand that our heavenly Father created all of His creation to praise Him. We understand that we are to praise the Lord, and we know that the Lord can communicate with all of what He created.
Our heavenly Father has a "universal language" that, within itself, is the beginning of all life. John 1: 3-4 says, "All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made" (NKJV). The Lord spoke (Genesis 1), and He majestically created all that we see and don't see.
His voice is not limited to verbal communication. (Isaiah 55:9 explains that His ways are not our ways). Although as humans we are able to communicate in various ways, these pale in comparison to the universal language of our omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent Lord. His voice can penetrate beyond that of any spoken language or dialect. Yet, how many times have we ignored His voice? Did we not hear Him speaking in His Word (the Bible)? Did we not hear Him speaking through sermons and pastors? Did we not hear Him speaking through parents and loved ones? Did we not hear His voice through the most difficult circumstances when He stood with us, loved us, and carried us through? Do we hear Him now?
He is calling us to praise Him. This year, let us be still and listen, expecting to hear His voice and respond with praise. Happy New Year!
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!"
Psalm 46:10 (NKJV)
