A message from Brother Greg Hauck
1 Thessalonians 5:23
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Have you considered what this means? We are made in His image and likeness. We can be set apart and experience the oneness of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in “whole spirit, soul, and body.” Jesus, being both man and God, understood what it means to be in completeness with the Father. The Lord Jesus existed with God from the beginning (John 1). As man, he understood that His body was only for a season (Matt 26:12). Jesus said He had a soul (John 12:27), and a spirit (Luke 23:46). He honored the Father with all of Himself (John 17:5).
We, as God’s greatest creation, are more than just flesh. Spirit, soul, and body, we were created in His image to reflect Him to the best of our ability as children of God. We must work at feeding not just the flesh, but the soul and spirit as well. Spend time with the Lord and be fed to fullness. Hear His Word; receive His Word. Apply His Word and be “preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ.”
“Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.” -- 1 John 3:7
